Family Council

Family Council is a forum for friends and families of residents at Eden Gardens to share experiences, to learn and to exchange information. It is a forum for families to help us move along our Eden journey to ensure that quality of life is the focus at Eden Gardens so that we can eliminate the hardships of loneliness, helplessness and boredom.

The Family Council allows for families to learn and to ask questions about how things are done at Eden Gardens. Questions and suggestions are welcome to help improve the home and the lives of the Elders who live here.

The Family Council is also a place for caregivers to find and to give support to each other and to meet other families. It is an educational source for many issues including dementia, medications used in dementia care, infection control and outbreaks, and the new building project. We also discuss special events that are upcoming, and share ideas for future events. Family support is critical to all our special events.

How to Get Involved?

Family Council typically meets the second Tuesday of every month (off for the summer) at 2:30 in our upstairs conference room at Eden Gardens. These meetings are subject to change so call Carolina to confirm. We would love to have you join us. For more information on joining the Family Council at Eden Gardens please contact Carolina our Programs Manager at 250-760-2639 or carolina.ponsford@edengardens.ca.
