Daybreak Program

Betty read to by Aspengrove student Leo Dec 2011 One of the Adult Day Programs at Eden Gardens, the Daybreak Program is intended for Elders who are finding independent living increasingly difficult due to Alzheimer's and other dementias. Daybreak provides a comfortable transition and ease of integration into a care facility environment. Interaction with their peers in a safe and friendly environment can be life changing for Elders with dementia who are living in isolation.

The activities at Daybreak are specifically designed to preserve and improve physical, mental and emotional health. A wide variety of recreational activities are available such as exercise, intergenerational programs, reminiscing and word puzzles. A nutritious lunch and snacks are provided.

Our friendly staff members also provide assistance with personal care and grooming, which can become increasingly difficult to manage. These include bathing, foot care and hair dressing.

Daybreak runs Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Please note Day Programs are closed on all STATUTORY HOLIDAYS including Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Transportation - Transportation to Eden Gardens is either provided by the family or can be arranged through RDN Handy Dart at 250-390-3000.

Cost - The program is subsidized by the Vancouver Island Health Authority and clients pay a small daily fee that includes lunch and snacks.
